ACADEMICS

In addition to CBSE curriculum, DPS Panipat City is now also offering International curriculum of University of Cambridge (CIE). We are proud to inform you that we are now a registered Cambridge school and offer a choice of 2 certificates to our students – the prestigious CBSE National Board as well as the prestigious International Cambridge Board. The Cambridge certificates offered are as follows:

·   CIPP ( Cambridge International Primary Programme & Lower Secondary Programme) for Classes 1 - VIII  IGCSE ( International General Certificate of Secondary Education) for Classes IX and X AS and A level for Classes XI and XII.

To meet  the students’ aspirations, the school is providing Vidhya Mandir Integrated classes for IIT/ NEET (Medical) coaching from class IX to XII, (both Foundation as well as Regular) on campus. The school conducts extra classes after school for various competitive & entrance examinations, Olympiads and other examinations like NTSE.

A school is always known by its results. At DPS Panipat City we follow the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation pattern in letter and in spirit. Our 2012-13 Class X as well class XII results have been spectacular. The untiring dedication and commitment of well qualified staff bore fruits again as our bright students of Class XII showed a commendable performance. Sanchi Khurana was declared district Panipat Commerce topper with 97%. In Science Swati Beniwal scored 94.4% whereas Diljot Singh and Lakshya Wadhwa scored 94.2% marks. Sanchi Khurana topped district Panipat with 100% in Economics. It was an ecstatic moment for the Principal, staff and students of DPS Panipat City.

STUDENT AND TEACHER ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMMES

A workshop on CCE compliance on IT was attended by Mr. Narendra Rawat (HOD Computers) and Ms. Himani Arora. A finance workshop was conducted in the school for students of Classes XI and XII by Mr. Kishore Kumar SEBI. A Workshop on communication skills was organized by Ms Alesa Lightbourne, director of International Relations at S P Jain school of global Management and former Dean of its BBA program. Mr. Virendra Mehta, legendary Memory Man of India, addressed the students of all the classes on 25^th July 2012.

4 of our students participated in online case study organized by Sukhdev college of Business studies, University of Delhi and the result is awaited.
Students of our school participated in Economics festival held in Panipat and won positions in 2 events i.e. Quiz and Best Economist.

DPS Panipat City was formally made a Centre for Greenpeace for Sonepat and Panipat. In its march to marshal more troops to transform this smoky and unhealthy earth into a haven, Greenpeace visited DPS Panipat City on April 26, 2013. In an interactive and interesting session the students were given further information about the deteriorating health of Mother Earth through videos and presentations sensitizing them about the grave issue. It was followed by the formation of Green Warrior Core Team comprising students and teachers of the school. All took a solemn pledge to save the world for future generations.

Among the competitions in which our students have won laurels this year we must mention a few. On 12^th November 2012, the 65^th Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the song presented by our students was broadcast live on FM Radio – it was a proud moment for us. Our school also won the Maharaja Agrasen Rolling Trophy on 19^th October 2012 at Gita Vidyamandir School.

Our school qualified for the finals in the zonals of the Inter DPS Vocal Indian Classical held in DPS Noida on 26^th April, 2013. At the National levels held in DPS Greater Noida on 27^thAugust, 2013 we won the 2^nd position. Our students won the 1^st position in the National level French Festival held in DPS Saket on 24^th July, 2013.  This has been a proud year for us in the cultural field among higly competitive DPS Schools.
